SILVESTRI: Rose Concetta Silvestri, 100 years old, of Waterford, entered eternal life on Feb.27, 2025, at home in the company of her loving family. She was born November 21, 1924 in Hartford, the daughter of Vito and Maria D’Eufemia. She moved to New London at an early age, graduated from the former Williams Memorial Institute, and later from the former New London Business College. She was united in marriage to Vincent J. Silvestri on Sept. 23, 1950 in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. Her beloved Husband Vincent J. Silvestri, Sr. died Dec. 9, 1991. In her childhood she survived Polio. Later she was involved in fundraising for March of Dimes and New London Polio Drive. Rose is survived by six children, Nancy Fleming and her companion Paul Blanco of Ft. Lauderdale, Vincent Silvestri, Jr. and his wife Beate, Paul Silvestri, Mary Silvestri, Carol Clark and Michael Silvestri and his companion Michelle Sylvestre, all of Waterford. Grandchildren, Aaron Fleming, Emily Dalhouse, Liz Fleming, Kevin and Paul Silvestri, Jonathan and Jordan Silvestri, Parker Clark and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her stepmother Nancy Spinato, her infant daughter Anne Marie Silvestri, sister Carmella Bletcher and son-in-law Peter Clark. Family and friends may gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11 am in St. Paul Church, 170 Rope Ferry Rd., Waterford. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London has been entrusted with her care.
