Rose Marie Villano

New London - Rose Marie Villano, 95, formerly of New London, Niantic, and Groton, was reunited with the love of her life March 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born Oct. 25, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the cherished daughter of the late James and Viola (Della Pia) Spadaro.

On June 11, 1949, she married her soulmate, Ambrose Villano Jr., in St. Joseph Church, beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned 74 years. Her beloved husband preceded her in death Aug. 2, 2023.

Rose is survived by her four children: Carol Fox (Larry) of Massachusetts, Susan Casper of Florida, Darlene Dwire (Jack) of Waterford, and James Villano Sr. (Diane) of Waterford. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Robin Casper.

Family and friends are invited at 11 a.m. Friday, April 4, to celebrate her life at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, 149 Montauk Avenue, New London.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Fairview in Groton, for the tender care provided.
