Robert McPherson

MCPHERSON: Robert George McPherson, 79, of Waterford passed away on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, in the comfort of his loving family. Born in New London on Dec. 18th, 1945 to the late Raymond and Stella (Adams) McPherson, he graduated from Griswold High School before joining the United States Air Force in 1963. After leaving the Armed Services, he returned to southeastern Connecticut, where he married Barbara Pasqualini on May 20, 1972, at St. Joseph’s Church in New London.  Together they raised two sons in East Lyme; Michael, currently of East Lyme, and John, who lives in Los Angeles, CA. Robert worked as an engineer and analyst for major utilities, including Stone & Webster and Northeast Utilities (now Eversource), throughout the country and abroad, for over 40 years. He was predeceased by his sisters Nancy and Faith, and his brother Dennis. He is survived by Barbara, his beloved wife of 53 years, 2 sons, daughters-in-law Jocelynn and Tina, and 5 grandchildren – Logan, Leighton, Maika, Landon and Zackary. His family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5-7PM at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 11AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Montauk Ave, New London. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Smilow Cancer Research Center.
