BROSOFSKE: Raymond Edward Brosofske, 102 of Norwich, entered eternal life on June 7, 2025. He was born June 14, 1922, the son of the late Edward and Flora (Barry) Brosofske. Ray grew up in Greenville, attending local schools, including Norwich Free Academy. Mr. Brosofske was a WW II veteran. Serving in the US Army in the Asiatic Pacific Theater in New Guinea and Luzon, receiving the Bronze Service Star. Upon returning to Norwich, he married the love of his life, the former Gloria Beaudette on Sept. 13, 1958, in St. Patrick Cathedral. Mrs. Brosofske survives him after 66 years. He was a member of the Norwich Fire Dept. retiring after 30 years at the rank of Captain. He later retired from State of CT, the former Uncas on the Thames Hospital and was a communicate of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Beside his wife Gloria he is survived by two children, Mary and Darryl Toni of Clinton, R. Edward Brosofske of Norwich. Two granddaughters, Amanda and Melissa Toni. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lorriane Chapman and Rita Smith. His family will receive relatives and friend on Thursday from 5 to 7 pm at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave. Norwich. Family and friends may gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 1 pm in St. Patrick Cathedral, 213 Broadway, Norwich. Interment with military honors will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to St. Patrick Cathedral Church.
