Michael Aexandros Deros

DEROS: Michael Aexandros Deros, 73, of New London, entered eternal life on Oct. 3, 2025. He was born March 22, 1953, in Gianna, Greece, the son of the late Alex and Anastasia (Singas) Deros. Moving to the US at age four with is family, settling in New London. He attended New London schools and later enlisted in the US Marines Corps. After returning from the Marines, he was employed at Electric Boat. He later went into the family business, Alexanda’s Family Restaurant in Waterford. He was a master carpenter, specializing in finish work and later was employed at Foxwoods Casino. Michael was an avid Miami Dolphin fan He is survived by his daughter, Stacey Deros of Quaker Hill, a sister, Irene and husband Joseph Anuszewicz of Waterford.  Three grandchildren, Chrstopher, Catherine and Hailey. A nephew Peter and wife Anastasia, nieces, Alexandra and Marina. He was predeceased by a sister, Ourania Deros. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday at 10 am in St. Sophia Hellenic Orthodox Church, 200 Hempstead St., New London, followed by a service at 11 am. Interment to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London has been entrusted with his care.
