GRILLO: Maria Grillo, 77 of New London, entered eternal life on March 2, 2026. She was born Nov. 2, 1948, in Tusa, Sicily, Italy the daughter of the late Antonio and Angela Grillo. Maria came to the US on March 19, 1968, and became a citizen in 1973. She worked for the State of CT at the former Seaside Regional Center for 27 years in food service. Maria loved to travel and visited many countries such as Italy, France, Switzerland, Argentina and Canada. She also traveled throughout the US, visiting many states and many adventures. She was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church where she sang in the choir. She served on the Feast of the Assumption Committee, a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Maria loved life and lived it to the fullest. She had a joyful personality and made friends everywhere she went. Maria will be greatly missed by her family and friends who knew her. She is survived by two siblings, Dominic and wife Carmella Grillo of New London, Giacomina Grillo of Italy. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews here in the US and Italy, who she loved as her own children, and was greatly loved by them all. She was predeceased by a brother Giuseppe Grillo. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 10 Huntington St., New London, followed by interment in St. Mary Cemetery.
