Joyce Pearson

PEARSON: Joyce Pearson, 72 of New London entered eternal life on Aug. 20, 2025, at home. She was born Dec. 31, 1952, in New London the daughter of the late Cosmo and Lucille (Purpora) Lupica.  Joyce graduated from St. Bernards High School and later from CT College in New London. She was united in marriage to Steven Pearson on Jan. 30, 1982, in New London, who survives her. Joyce was employed at the former BBP and later at the Friendship School in Waterford. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish, a member of St. Joseph Woman’s Club and a member of the former Dante Alighieri Society. Besides her beloved husband of 42 years, she is survived by two daughters, Ursula Moreshead and Stephanie Rangel both of Waterford. Step-daughters, Kerrie Pennella and Tracy Morse both of New London. Grandchildren, John and Anthony Morsehead, Carmela and Sunshine Rangel, Olivia Pennella, Trinity and Ryder Morse. Cousin, Elena and John Olsen of Waterford. She was predeceased by her brother Louis N. Lupica. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5pm to 7pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. The funeral will assemble on Wednesday at 9 am and proceed to a Mass of Christian burial at 10 am in St. Joseph Church. Interment to follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
