John louis Carfi

Waterford - John Louis Carfi, 71, of Waterford, passed away Dec. 28, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife, April Carfi.
John was born March 11, 1954, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London. He was the son of Salvato Carfi and Anne Mercuri; little brother to Lynn Tsafarakis who is married to Tom “Zack” Tsagarakis; and uncle to JC Tsagarakis.
John graduated from Waterford High School in 1972, where he enjoyed playing baseball and wrestling. He went on to attend the University of Connecticut, earning a degree in pharmacy. After graduating from UConn, John enjoyed an incredible career as a pharmacist for nearly 50 years, during which he not only helped countless people through his work and volunteer efforts, but also built lasting relationships with those around him – none more important than meeting his wife in 1992 at the Medicine Shoppe.
John especially loved playing golf at the Great Neck Country Club, enjoying summers at Pleasure Beach with his family, and of course, supporting the UConn Huskies. John was a gentlemen and loving husband to April Carfi. He was an incredibly proud and supportive father to his three children, Jordan Ransom, Mia and Julia Carfi. John was also a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren, Brooks and Audrey Ransom.
John led his life with immense positivity, bringing smiles and laughter to every person he met. His memory will live on through his carefree personality and brilliant wisdom he provided to so many.
We will love and cherish his legacy forever.
The family will hold a private service followed by a Celebration of Life in March 2026 with details to follow.
