Joan Tackling

TACKLING: Joan Tackling, 85 of New London entered eternal life on June 11, 2026. She was born Sept. 23, 1940, in New London the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Souders) DesFosses. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Tackling, Sr.  Joan was a lifelong resident of New London attending local schools. She is survived by a son Ernest Tackling, a grandson James Tackling, a great grandson Alex Tackling, and a sister Louis Dustin. She was predeceased by a son Robert Tackling, Jr., granddaughter Ashley Tackling and a sister Ruth Ellen Champlin. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 5pm to 7 pm at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 11 am in St. Mary Cemetery, New London.
