Ettore Giuseppe Tassone

Ettore Giuseppe Tassone passed to his eternal rest in the early morning of December 29th, 2025, 2 months shy of his 93rd birthday.

Ettore was born in Nardodipace, Italy, to Ilario and Concetta Tassone. He worked as a shoe cobbler in Italy but times were tough. 1n 1966, when he was 33 years old he brought his wife Rosa and their two children to the United States. They joined his parents and sister Rose who were already here. The family settled in Groton, CT, and Ettore worked for Pfizer for over 25 years. 

After his wife Rosa passed, Ettore married Florence Curasi. They lived in Florida and Connecticut, traveled extensively, and were a big part of their children and grandchildren's lives. They enjoyed 40 years together before she passed in 2024. 

Ettore dedicated his life to making sure his family had everything they needed.  He made pasta dinners at his house every week so he could be with his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren.  

One of his favorite pastimes was playing cards with his many friends at the Italian club in Groton.  Ettore's kindness and generosity were also extended to his friends and neighbors, and to everyone he met.

He was loved by all and will be greatly missed by his children Ilario and Liliana, his grandchildren and their spouses Brandon  and Nicole, Rosanna and Clayton, Graziella and Andrew, Adriana and Brendon, and his great-grandchildren Poppy, Emilia and Lola. He was predeceased by his loving wives Rosa and Florence, sister Rose, son Riccardo, and son-in-law Andrea Fulchiero. 

This family will receive relatives and friends Friday morning from 9AM to 10 AM at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home at 84 Montauk Ave, New London, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial

at 10:30AM in Sacred Heart Church, 56 Sacred Heart Dr., Groton, CT. Entombment to follow in St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum, New London.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Smilow Cancer Center in Waterford CT.
