Elizabeth P Henseler

HENSELER: Elizabeth P. Henseler, 83 of Uncasville, entered eternal life on Jan. 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 6,1942, in Montville, CT, the daughter of the late Arthur and Eliza (Pachiodo) Paradis. Elizabeth (Liz) was united in marriage to Robert W. (Bob) Henseler, who survives her, on Feb. 20, 1965, at St. John’s Church in Uncasville. Liz attended Palmer Memorial Elementary School and graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1960. She attended Mitchell College (1960-1961) and matriculated to Willimantic State College, graduating in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She received her Master of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut in 1970. Liz was employed by the Norwich Board of Education as an elementary school Title I Reading teacher and retired after 25 years of dedicated service. Besides her loving husband of nearly 61 years, Liz is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Lisa and Charles J. Halloran of Oakdale and Karen and John T. Woodmansee of Lebanon. She had many years of joy with her five grandchildren, Charles B. Halloran and his wife Jennifer, Melissa Terry and her husband Sean, Patrick Halloran and his fiancé Dr. Lily Zhong, Emily Evrett and her husband Jordan, and Dr. Katharine Woodmansee and her partner Dr. Samuel Hutchens. She was additionally blessed with five great-grandchildren, Rylee, Avery, Noelle, Brixton, and Adaline. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Janet Boyle, Celia Henseler, Mary Jane Paradis, Bette Ziemba, and brother-in-law Michael Thomas and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by her siblings Arthur Paradis and his wife Violet, Normand J. Paradis, and Lorraine Sistare and her husband Frank. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the dementia unit staff at Orchard Grove Specialty Care Center in Uncasville for their compassionate care for Liz over these past several years. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, January 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Avenue, New London, CT. Family and friends are invited to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 752 Norwich-Salem Turnpike, Oakdale, CT. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Uncasville, CT.
