Diane Theresa (Johns) Wood

Diane Theresa (Johns) Wood, 67 of New London peacefully entered eternal life on November 11, 2025 surrounded by comfort and love. 
   She was born March 15, 1958, in New London. The daughter of Theresa (Hunt) Johns and the late and great Walter (Homer) Johns. 
   Diane was a proud New Londoner attending Harbor School, St. Josephs School and later graduating from Saint Bernards High School class of 1976. She enjoyed reunions and get togethers with her classmates. 
    She worked as a telephone operator at AT&T and retired after 23 years of service. While at AT&T she loved & enjoyed volunteering with the  CSF organization serving her community. After retiring she continued working and loved her time at the Laundry Room in Waterford, talking to customers and seeing her regulars. 
  Diane is survived by her mother Theresa, she is also survived by her three children, her heartbeats,  Geoffrey, Aimee & Zachary all of New London. A brother, Richard Johns of Alexandria, Virginia. Her grandchildren & lights, Dezmond, Kammryn, Zarianna & Lacey. 
 Diane loved in the most simple &  heartfelt ways. She loved candles, crossword puzzles, twizzlers, warm weather, the beach and time with her family. 

Her family will receive relations and friends on Monday, November 17th, for a memorial gathering from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to New London Rehabilitation and Care of Waterford Recreation Department 88 Clark Lane Waterford, CT.
