Catalina Vazquez

VAZQUEZ: Catalina Vazquez, 91 of New London, entered eternal life on Jan. 7, 2026. She was born March 1, 1934, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Ramon Vazquez and Iluminada Arce. Catalina worked for the State of Puerto Rico as a clerk, before moving to New London. She was very proud of receiving her Associate Degree from the Interamericana University of Puerto Rico.  She is survived by her children, Carmen Laureano, Maria Hidalgo, Victor Ayala, Norma Velez, Yaditza Ayala and Jonathan Ayala. Eight grandchildren, Cathian, Adam, Donny, Manuel, Yesenia, Glenn, Sigfredo and Lynette, twenty great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Manuel Laureano. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 10 am to 11 am at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London, followed by a funeral home service. Interment to follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, New London.
