Calvin Leroy Gray

GRAY: Calvin “Leroy” Gray, 70 of Uncasville, passed away on Nov. 26, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with leukemia, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec.1, 1953 the son of the late Virgil Gray and Evelyn (Mitchell) Young.  Mr. Gray was a Navy Veteran, serving on board the USS Nautilus and USS Whale from 1971 to 1975 as a sonar technician.  After being honorably discharged from the Navy, and was employed at Electric Boat Fire Dept. from 1975 to 1989. He later became a professional truck driver from 1989 to 2022, driving long hauling for various companies. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Deborah (Nott) Gray. Two daughters and spouses: Staci and Keith Neilan, Keri and Randy Perry. Two sisters: Winona Leak and Donna Young.  Sister in-law; Pamela and Steven Lubchansky, brother in-law William and Linda Nott, and David Nott. Nephews and nieces; Marc & Lisa Lubchansky, Ashley & David Stefanski, Christopher & Kate Nott, Timothy & Rachel Nott, David Nott, Jr., along with numerous great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Randy Gray and Kimberly Scroggins, In-laws William and Phyllis Nott. As his request there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. The Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London has been entrusted with his care.
