Brian Keith Adamson

Waterford - Brian Keith Adamson passed away peacefully June 6, 2026. He was born in New London, Aug. 9, 1988, the son of Brenda L. (Harlow) Adamson.

Brian's youth was wrapped in the loving care of his mother and his grandparents, who were all instrumental in his upbringing. His grandparents often introduced him to outdoor activities such as fishing at Hamburg Cove, swimming at Pleasure Beach, and appreciating the simple beauty of nature. Those early experiences remained a source of joy throughout his life, especially the many special times he spent fishing with "Aren't Becky" (Aunt Becky) at Lake Brandegee.

Brian attended Norwich Regional Vocational Technical School, where he studied carpentry. He later worked locally at the Waterford Stop & Shop as a customer service representative and at the local Hess gas station. Later, he challenged himself further by learning to deal at Mohegan Sun Casino.

Brian was an unselfish and heartfelt person, always willing to lend a hand to those he knew and even to those he did not. He enjoyed the simpler things in life: a vintage car show, a stroll along the shores of Harkness, taking in the vastness of the ocean. On country rides, he embraced the scenery and reflected along the way. Those reflections often became short fictional vignettes that expressed his unique point of view.

Brian was witty and quick to spot an opportunity to challenge your thinking. He often laced his text messages with symbols and playful "hieroglyphics," once again keeping us and others on their toes. He was also a cheerful person whose frequent saying, "Positively optimistic," became his mantra.

In recent years, Brian spent much of his time with his younger nephew, Dominic James Harlow, age 10, and his newborn nephew, Giovanni Brian Rafala. Both brought joy and laughter to his kind heart.

Brian was also introduced to the spirit of the Lord through his mother and grandparents, often attending Cornerstone Baptist Church in Oakdale, and Waterford First Baptist Church in Waterford. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a young age and was baptized soon thereafter. His family takes comfort in knowing that Brian is now in the presence of his beloved grandparents, Keith E. Harlow Sr. and Geraldine R. (Sanford) Harlow and welcomed home by Jesus.

Brian will be deeply missed by his family and friends. In time, those who mourn his loss will recall fond memories that bring a warm smile to their hearts.

He is survived by his dear mother, Brenda L. (Harlow) Adamson; his sister, Maxine H. Adamson; and his two nephews, Dominic J. Harlow and Giovanni B. Rafala; along with his supportive uncles and aunts, Dennis W. Harlow, Keith E. Harlow Jr., Laurie J. (Harlow) King and Rebecca J. Harlow; and dear cousins, Karalyn M. Harlow, Joshua M. Harlow, Samantha J. King and Finbar J. Harlow.

There will be a "Celebration of Life" at 11 a.m. held Friday, June 19, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 900 Route 163 Oakdale. Interment will be private.
