Beverly Lewis Obituary

Beverly M. Lewis, 88, of Quaker Hill, entered eternal life in the early hours of October 30, 2025, in New London.

Born May 8, 1937, in New London, she was the youngest daughter of Anthony and Margaret (Daniels) Mugavero.  Raised by her extended family, Beverly is predeceased by her parents, her beloved brothers Anthony ‘Tony’ Mugavero and Floyd Mugavero, both of California, her sister, Francis Mugavero and her aunt, Constance Mugavero, both of New London.

Beverly married the love of her life, who survives her, David J. Lewis, Sr., on September 12, 1959 at St. Joseph’s Church, and together, along with building a life of 66 years, raised four sons, all of whom survive her: Stephen D. Lewis, of Quaker Hill, CT., David J. Lewis, Jr. (Carol) of Jaffrey, NH., Ronald J. Lewis (Catherine) of Quaker Hill, CT and Michael N. Lewis (Brenda) of Milford, CT.

Beverly, was not only a mother, but a devoted ‘Nini’ to her grandchildren:  Sarah Lewis and David J. Lewis, III (NY), Benjamin Lewis (Anne) of South Carolina, Hunter Lewis of Quaker Hill, CT., Joshua J. Lewis of Quaker Hill and Myra, Gavin, Tucker and Taylor Lewis, all of Milford, CT.

Nothing made her happier than being in her home, with her family.  She loved music, cooking and classic western movies. Traveling across the country numerous times, she loved all the destinations that led to her family in California, where she would spend as much time as she could.

Beverly spent her whole life caring for and about people.  She had a distinguished career as a Nurse’s-Aid and spent most of her 25-year career at the former Nutmeg Pavilion in New London.

The Lewis Family would like to thank the gracious staff at Beechwood Nursing Home for taking such great care of Beverly.

The Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Avenue, New London has been entrusted with her care.
